OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1992, by Alex Hart, International Karate Champion who sought to create high-quality fitness destination suitable for the whole family. She recognised that the UK had very few indoor Fitness , Martial Arts & Wellness facilities, so created a pioneering concept of combining fitness and Martial Arts in a family-friendly environment.

Alex Hart herself, 5th Dan Black-belt in karate and kickboxing, pursued a successful, professional Martial Arts career with the’ England Karate Team’ traveling across the globe winning competitions, far and wide, and in addition furthering her personal qualifications as a Sports Therapist, Personal Trainer and Nutritionist whilst becoming an International Kickboxing & Karate Champion.

This spear-heading the Alex Hart KAIZEN brand to encompass Fitness, Health & Wellness looking at the individual and lifestyle as a whole, affirming the practise of fitness in body and mind. Encouraging a lifestyle formula of continuous improvement and personal efficiency which can be applied to all areas of an individual’s personal life to achieve their wildest goals.

Instructors are mentored by Alex Hart herself, before qualifying as an AHK Instructor. Alex Hart’ philosophy runs core deep through her Mentorship Programme:

The classes we offer are as diverse as teaching you what to eat to feel great – to feel the thrill of a competing Martial Arts Class - to a Les Mills fitness class our Gym for a stronger body or our Coaching Classes to strengthen your mind. A PLACE TO EAT WELL

Our passion is your wellbeing. You are what you eat has never before rung so true. We know how important it is to eat the correct food groups to sustain an active and healthy lifestyle. But it is not only about eating the correct food, supplementing your food with nutritional supplements is just as important. Our Nutrition Coaching via our AHK Breakfast Club or a AHK 30-90 Day Clean Eating programme teaches healthy cooking and eating from home. To steer away from food groups which do not serve your body or mind and to replace them with healthier options, creating healthier habits around food.

NEWLY REFURNISHED DOJO'S & STATE OF THE ART FITNESS CLUBS

Our newly refurbished dojo’s also home our fitness classes. We also use outside spaces so you can enjoy your fitness in the fresh air.

Our group exercise programme’s are packed with Les Mills Fitness and Martial Arts classes. Our spacious dojo’s mean you’ll have ample room to kick and punch your way to fitness.

Each club has its own unique feel centred around your well-being. Our dojo’s are purpose built and wall to wall in cushioned matting. We offer Karate and Kickboxing classes, Les Mills BODYATTACK ™, BODYCOMBAT ™, BODYBALANCE ™ and BODYPUMP ™, with our Gym and Bootcamp classes giving you the space to forge a healthy fitness regime which works for you, whilst having fun. The classes focus on different muscle groups allowing us to look at you as a whole and the ability to create stronger bodies and minds. All you need to do is to participate!

OUR FRIENDLY TEAM

We know that we are only as good as the team we have working with us. Every instructor is fully qualified and has undergone extensive AHK coaching to be able to coach you.

Our Personal Trainers and Fitness Instructors are highly skilled. They also care deeply for your well-being and form lasting working relationships with members.

Our team is without doubt, next level. You will see us championing them as they champion you, and we are as much their cheerleaders as you are theirs!

We have ample parking at each club and if you are working away from home, you can check into any club, so you don’t miss out on your workout.

CONVENIENCE

A Virtual 360° online programme was adopted through lockdown. This packed programme covers 33 plus classes a week over 6 days and we will continue to offer online classes from your home environment for as long as we have demand.

We successfully kept hundreds of families fit and healthy through lockdown, lifting spirits and maintaining a positive outlook.

There was no hurdle we did not overcome.

SKY VIEW SPORTS BAR

We know just how important it is to have a comfortable, reliable place to meet up with friends or to catch up on a few emails after picking the kids up from school. With fast Wi-Fi, good quality food and drink options and comfortable seating, you can happily get on with your working day in a friendly environment. The Sky View Bar is located next to the Dojo, which means you can drop the kids, grab a book, your laptop and take some time for you. You may be a parent who likes to feed the kids before you head home, healthy meals are available. Or you may want to socialise with your class after a hard work-out.
